Born in Altdorf, Central Switzerland, in 1957, education in St.Gallen, studies in applied linguistics, folk poetry, English and German literature at the University of Zürich, Ph.D. in linguistics at the University of Bern on language choice in bilingual education. EFL teacher since 1977, mainly on university level and in adult education, with excursions into pre-school to gymnasium level teaching.
Past activities: ESP course design, coordinator for research project on bilingual education in Switzerland, editor and author of EFL course for Swiss secondary schools and musician in various rock and folk groups.
Present activities: running writing workshops (creative and academic), teaching language and, teacher training courses at the English Department of Bern University, running creative writing workshops for the British Council Switzerland and free-lance, writing poetry and doing poetry performances.
